Debian 9 Kernel Version

Debian 9 Kernel Version Rating: 4,3/5 1562 reviews

Debian Linux 8.3 “jessie” released and Updated version of Debian Linux 8/9 has been released; Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS released and here is how to upgrade it. @IQAndreas As tested on Debian Wheezy, all three provide the Debian version for me: (a) cat /etc/.-release shows Wheezy or, equivalently, version 7, on three separate lines; (b) cat /proc/version shows version number 7 in the suffix to the kernel build; and (c) lsbrelease -a shows Wheezy on two lines and version 7 on a third. I have upgraded from 6.6 to 6.9 and must reinstall my virtualbox installation. In order to recompile, i have to know what version of Debian we are running-is it still the Debian 8 'Jessie' for 6.9? What about 6.10? I see from some posts that i should stick to 5.1 of virtualbox vs going to 6.0. I know my old 6.6 was 'Wheezy' thank you.
